About 1st Year

The “Bi-city Youth Cultural Leadership Programme” is a two-year programme. The first year was held from Oct 2022 to Feb 2023. 95 students from Hong Kong and Beijing are recruited (approximately 50 from each city). They interact with each other through a virtual learning platform to complete various creative missions online and offline throughout 8 sessions of curated learning workshops. To consolidate their learning, they have developed ideas and pitched for the future development of the Hong Kong Palace Museum as the programme conclusion. Participants who excel in the first-year programme have a greater chance to be selected to join the second year of the programme.

Group 11 Digital Souvenir - Brick Space

Groupmates: Tang Jing (Tsinghua University), Li Wanqing Lydia (Central Academy of Fine Arts), Hu Lei Roey (Beijing Normal University), Song Rui (Beijing Normal University), Chu Weiqi (City University of Hong Kong), Kwong Hoi Shan (Hong Kong University), Wong Mei Kuen (Chinese University of Hong Kong), Tang Kwan Ting (Chinese University of Hong Kong)

"Red walls and golden tiles, carved beams and painted rafters, the Palace Museum is formed by different building parts. "Brick Space" is a digital proposal merging digital souvenir and Metaverse technology, allows every visitor to adopt a piece of brick, tile or other building parts of the Palace Museum, and build their own digital space. Visitors may gain decorations for their spce through visiting offline exhibitions, and gain new knowledges by engaging with cultural celebrities; may visit neighbors to found concensus; may hold exhibitions to showcase yourself; may build parent-child space to get along with your family......Each of us is a seperate world and we can wander around our own locale; we may also form a biger world together, to build a Palace Museum in Metaverse. Future, is "Interaction" and "Co-creation", lets create the future together!"

Group 10 Inclusive Museum Experience - Multi-sensory Interactive Exhibition

Groupmates: Zhao Zixu (Communication University of China), Yang Junwen (Communication University of China), Cao Fengru (Central Academy of Fine Arts), Xu Jingyang (Lingnan University), Yu Nga Ki (Chinese University of Hong Kong/Beijing University Dual Degree), Lam Ka Wing (Hong Kong University), Liu Yiyang (Chinese University of Hong Kong), Leung Man Chin (Hong Kong University)

"Multi-sensory Interactive Exhibition" used iclusive and innovative method to spread Chinese culture and history to diversify audiences, and bare the responsibility of spreading cultural sustainability. 3D prinnting and AR technologies are implemented to antiques, to innovate the relation of antiques and audiences, and to include visually impaired people as part of audiences. Our objective is to "Revive" antiques through digital technology, encountering antiques closely and raise awareness on heritage conservation and visually impaired people.

We focus on the mobilization of exhibits to multidimensional sensories of visitors, allow them to toch antiques in real life, to deeply feel the power brought by antiques. We hope that our exhibitions may benifit more audiences, and allow visually impaired people to participate, thus truely promote the beautiness of antique to more and more people. "

Group 7 Digital Souvenir - Journey of the Young: Cloud-based Education Platform of HKPM

Groupmates: Chan Wing Sum (Beijing University), Chen Qinran Cynthia (Central Academy of Fine Arts), Li Yinuo Chloe (Tsinghua University), Xu Jingyang (Lingnan University), Jin Dingding (Education University of Hong Kong), Fung Yan Yan Conchita, (Hong Kong Baptist University), Tian Jinru (Chinese University of Hong Kong), Qiu Zhilin (Lingnan University), Kong Yeung (Beijing University)

"While exploring Hong Kong Palace Museum, we discovered that underage children lost interest and perceptual experience easily, and learnings on museum antiques and related histories often have physical space limitation. Therefore we would like to build a platform which is more conforming to perceptual cognition mode and with long shelf life. We fix our attention on the three stages of before, during and after visiting exhbitions. Through substituting into a Qing Dynasty avatar, visitors used first-person perspective to explore Hong Kong Palace Museum, to accelerate multidimentional conversations between audiences and exhibits, between audiences, as well as between audience and curator. After the visit, the previous experience will produce a continous youth community and exhibit database, forming a participative academic space."
